Materials tester for metal technology
As a materials tester, you enjoy working with testing tools. The main duties will include grinding, polishing, measuring, calculating, and logging.
Your training
- You will assess materials based on physical, mechanical,and chemical properties
- You will learn how to differentiate between different production methods
- You will learn to differentiate between the basic physical properties of destructive and non-destructive testing procedures and determine material properties
- You will learn which testing equipment, consumables, measuring equipment, and auxiliaries should be used for what
- You will assess the suitability for heat treatment of metallic materials and actually perform heat treatment
- You will perform both destructive and non-destructive testing procedures, evaluate the test results, and document the test procedure
